MODIFIED  CRICKET

RULES

  1. Matches will be played under Modified Cricket rules i.e. total number of runs divided by total number of wickets.

  1. An “Eastern Incredible” ball or an “Eclipse” (approved by SACA) is recommended.

  1. Only year 6 and below may play.  (Designed mainly for years 5 and 4)

  1. Each side will receive 24 overs

  1. Each bowler may bowl 2 consecutive overs.

  1. There shall be 12 players per side.

  1. Each player shall bowl one 9 ball overs.  No extra balls for wides but one run for every wide.            

  1. Each pair of batters will face 18 balls.

  1. Bowling is from one end only.  Batters change ends at the end of each over.

  1. The wickets to be between 16 and 20 metres apart.

  1. No L.B.W. rule unless blatant abuse is obvious.

  1. A uniform score sheet shall be used by all teams

  1. A set of markers need to be placed 15 metres from the pitch in a circle, similar to the international one day cricket set up.

  1. All fielders except the bowler and wicket keeper will need to be behind the markers when the ball is bowled.

15.        If a ball hits the cones play continues.

IT IS SUGGESTED THAT THE HOME TEAM FIELDS FIRST IN AN EFFORT TO SAVE TIME 

COACHES ARE STRONGLY URGED TO DISCUSS THE RULES WITH THEIR OPPONENTS BEFORE EACH MATCH TO CLARIFY THESE RULES
