SOCCER RULES

Match Times

· For all Secondary School matches early games begin at 8.30 am and other games at

10.00 am

· All ‘A’ matches precede ‘B’ matches where possible.

· If times need to be changed to fit into ground allocations – it is up to the host school to organise that and liaise with their opposition

· Primary matches begin at 8.30 am 9.30 am and 10.30 am

Referees

· The home team is responsible for supplying and paying for a competent referee.

· Association Referees are provided for all open A games.

· If there is a change to any times or grounds where Association referees are involved schools MUST inform Jill George ASAP

Balls

· Year 8 and above use size 5 balls.

· Home team to supply a ball of match play standard

Interchange and Substitution

· At all levels four interchange players may be used.

· This may be modified by agreement between coaches to allow the maximum number to play

.

· Only players not in the starting eleven of a team may play in B games.

Any change to this may be by negotiation between coaches only.

Playing Times

· Year 5 and 6 25min x 2

· Year 7 & 8 30min x 2

· Year 9 & 10 35min x 2

· Open 40min x 2

· Any variation should be only by agreement between coaches and referee.

KNOCKOUT GAMES

· 

  • Determining a winner from a round robin competition
  • Give 3 points win - i for a draw - 0 for a loss
  • If equal ranking - go on goal difference
  • If still equal go on goals for
  • If still equal on result of the game between the two teams
  • If still equal a REPLAY at a mutually agreed time and place
    THIS GAME WILL HAVE TO BE PLAYED OUT FOR A RESULT
    If the two teams involved do not play the game by the date accepted by ISSA the next placed team will qualify.

Uniforms

Where possible Open A teams to wear numbers on shirts. Consistent with Club Soccer.

Reported Players

· A player who is sent from the field by the Referee for a reportable offence (red card)

CANNOT RETURN FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE GAME. A replacement is not permitted.

· At the conclusion of the game, the Referee must complete a report card (provided by coaches)

stating the reason for the report.

· This card must be forwarded to the Principal of the School of the reported player by

the players Coach.

Medical Kit

· The host school is responsible for supplying a medical kit or have one available.

· It is suggested that each team should carry a small first aid kit.

OPEN SOCCER REFEREES

The Soccer Referees Association will provide badged Referees for all Open A games at

$60.00, payable by the Host School.

All schools should use Association Referees for all Open A games  Div 1, Div 2, Div 3– any school who is able to access their own qualified referee needs to inform Jill George before the start of the competition..

All matches commence at 8.15 a.m.

The first names school is responsible for paying the referees.

All matches are 40 minutes each half

Coaches are responsible for having a report card completed by the Referee in the

event of a player being sent off for a reportable offence (red card)
